The company was organized by Mr. Julito R. Villanueva a graduate of MBA in UP, after he left Aurea Ceramics then he was the largest manufacturer of Terracotta Tiles and Bricks, owned by the Escaler De Leon group of companies.

                His exposure into the stone industry gave him an insight into the business of construction materials, specifically, the natural stone business.

                He started by processing Coral Stone Tiles then developed the Shelled Limestone Products, popularly called Mactan Stones. This product became a big hit in the 80’s, and this became the foundation in the establishment of the company.

                Eventually this product found a market in the U.S. during the early 90’s. It started in Florida, then found its way to Arizona, Texas and California.

                In the local scene, he was able to involve himself in the large projects like the construction of the Amanpulo Resort in Palawan, the Ayala Greenbelt, PBCOM building and extensively in the Rockwell complex of the residential condominium, shopping mall, business condominium, etc. most of the hardscape works in this complex were done by tower.

                In the middle of 1990’s demand for Mactan Stone for export swelled such that the company went into high gear in the production of this product. Its facilities were expanded in Mactan Cebu during this period.

                Toward the end of the 90’s Tower diversified its product line to include products like Sandstones from Zambales and Cebu, Greenslates Woodstones, Terrazo and then eventually into Bulacan Marble. Tower operates a marble processing facility in Plaridel Bulacan as of the moment.

                Tower had also successfully developed other product line in the construction industry like the supply and installation of sports surfacing in the country for tennis, basketball, and badminton. The company developed this product for a period of 10 years and is now controlling 80 percent of the market. Among its clients are Rizal Memorial Center, Subic Bay Tennis Center, Celebrity Sports Club, Ayala Land, Metrogate , Filinvest etc.

                In November 2002, the company changes its name to Towerstones Incorporated and integrated its operation such as Marble and Natural stone processing in Mactan Cebu and Plaridel Bulacan, contracting Hardscape finishes such as Drive ways, Water features, Walk ways, Plant boxes, Swimming pool tilling and Walkway, etc. It has also contracted Countertops made of granite, marble solid surfaces and engineered stones. Its countertops are exported into the United States for very high end market.

                 The company has also developed new lines such as Rammed Earth pavers Terrazo and Megablock, a plaster less wall form system.
